More info about the project
We are running a series of workshops for a new community art project for Shenley Church End.
Portrait of a Pond is inspired by the unique ecology of the pond located at the corner of Shenley Road and Burchard Crescent.
We are hosting a series of fun, hands-on workshops where you can share your thoughts on the artwork’s design and learn creative techniques like paper cut-out, metal casting and clay brick carving. There will be workshops for all ages and skill levels.
We invite anyone who’s interested to join us in co-creating this artwork—no experience required! Whether or not you consider yourself creative, your ideas and contributions will help shape the final piece.
We will be creating a community-designed piece that celebrates the pond’s rich wildlife. The artwork could be practical, like a hibernaculum (a shelter for hibernating amphibians), or educational, showcasing the life cycles of the pond’s various species.
The project is commissioned by Culture Milton Keynes, in collaboration with Shenley Church End Parish Council.
