North Stoneham Public Art
We are running a series of workshops to create new public artworks for North Stoneham. These will involve designing and making a series of sculptures based on local nature and heritage. You will be able to get hands-on with drawing, paper cutting, modelling wax (for bronze casting) and brick clay and help create the artworks.

Saturday 24 May, 4.30 - 6.30pm, YMCA Eastleigh
Free Bronze Sculpture Workshop (booking required).
Suitable for all ages*
Places are limited for this workshop so please book your place via our Eventbrite page.
In this workshop we will work with you to help you make a wax wildlife model, which will be cast in bronze and become part of the North Stoneham Sculpture Trail.
No previous experience is necessary. All materials will be provided.
*For children under 7 years old we would recommend that an adult work with them. Families/ groups are welcome to work together on one sculpture too.
Please arrive for a 4:30pm start. We will finish by 6:30pm.
The workshop will be in the main hall at YMCA Eastleigh.

Project Workshops
Leaf Design Workshop
19 Nov 2024
Residents from Summergate Lodge, along with other local people made paper-cut leaf designs. These will be used to inspire the designs for the decorative pillars that will hold the bronze sculptures.
Mapping Trail Locations Workshop
30 Nov 2024
Some of the Scouts from 11th Eastleigh (North Stoneham) Scout Group joined us to help map out possible locations for pieces on the sculpture trail. We explored North Stoneham getting ideas for the trail and how it can be used by the community in lots of different ways!
Christmas Lights Switch-On Introductory Workshop

We held a workshop to introduce ourselves and the project to the local community during the North Stoneham Community Group Christmas lights switch-on event. It was great to meet so many people from North Stoneham and tell them about how they can be involved in the project.
Scout Leaf Sculpture Workshop
12 Feb 2025
The 11th Eastleigh (North Stoneham) Scout Group worked with us to make some fantastic leaf designs from clay. They are all species that are found in and around the estate. The leaves will be used as templates when the brick pillars for the sculpture trail are designed.
Clay Leaf Sculpture Workshop

Local families made some great leaf sculptures that will be used as part of the designs for the carved brick pillars that will form part of the trail.
Clay Wildlife Sculpture Workshop

We had some fantastic clay sculptures of birds made by local people. These were made in preparation for the bronze pieces that will be part of the sculpture trail
Scouts Activity Workshop
30 April
The scouts helped us come up with ideas for the activity wall that will be part of the sculpture trail. Inspired by local nature, they came up with suggestions for playful outdoor activities that everyone can take part in!
