Where’s Our Battle’ by Juneau Brothers. One of five tracks from’The Forward Staute in Flames’. The track is inspired by the removal of the JKF mosaic from the St Chads roundabout and the plan to relocate it in the paving of a new plaza. Played on home made audio trigger instruments. Sound samples include ebow guitar, triggered in Audiomulch. Soundreactive visuals in VVVV.

‘Formosa’ installed at Crate, Margate. 15/11/09 and 19-22/11/09 12-5pm at Crate Project Space

Images from the Shell Grotto installation of ‘Formosa’ - a new piece commissioned by Crate, Margate, curated by Matthew De Pulford, part of Bad Translation. The piece consisted of sound-reactive visuals triggered by computer data cassettes pulled from Commodore Datasettes by electric motors. The piece drew on the history of séances held at the grotto, the use of technology to record the ‘dead’ through Electronic Voice Phenomenon, and the redundancy of obsolete computer systems and cassette data storage.
